mpionship after defeating Sweden 5 to 1 on Monday January 5,2009. Canada started off very strong by scoring the first goal in 40 seconds. The 5 goals that Canada scored were by PK Subban, Angelo Esposito, Jordan Eberle and Cody Hodgson scored two goals. Joakim Andersson was the only Sweden player to score a goal against Dustin Tokarski, the Canadian goaltender. The Vancouver Canucks draft pick Cody Hodgson ended the tournament with 16 points. John Tavares was named the most valuable player and the top forward for the tournament. Prime Minister Stephen Harper also attended the game and cheered for Team Canada. The attendance for the game was 20,380 which was a single game record for the World Junior Hockey Championship.In my opinion I think that it was a good thing that Canada earned and got the gold medals for 5
years in a row. That is amazing. I also think that it was very good that Stephen Harper attended the game. He came to Team Canada's practice before the game and told them that everyone in Canada was with them and they should try very hard to win the game. In my opinion I think that Team Canada tries very hard at the World Juniors and that's why they have earned the gold medal for 5 years in a row. In my opinion I think that Team Canada is a great team and I think that they will keep on winning the gold medals at the World Junior Hockey Championship.To read the article click here.
